The Benzo Beast

It's devious and deceptive, confusing and cunning. It messes with your intellect, your sense of reality, and your emotions. It puts unwanted, frightening, catastrophic thoughts in your head. It's as if it were alive like some kind of demon or monster that holds on and doesn't want to let go. It's a war. But it can be won. It's insidious and all pervasive, but it can't win in the end if we are determined. We can rid ourselves of it and we do recover. Trust me. it's the truth. I did it!

Life Without Tranquillisers

Life Without Tranquillisers by Vernon Coleman

Valium, Librium, Mogadon: These are just some of the brand names of drugs in the benzodiazepine group which today pose a horrifying addiction problem for many ordinary people. Although they are widely prescribed by doctors, these drugs are not only highly addictive, but they can cause brain damage, mental confusion and anxiety itself - which is the very symptoms for which the drugs are most commonly prescribed.

Life Without Tranquillisers gives you the harsh facts about the dangers of these "happy pills" and being hooked on them. There are wise guidelines on how to relax and how to overcome the stresses of modern life without turing to pills for help.

Most important of all, Dr. Coleman clearly explains exactly what action you should take so you can safely cut down on and then stop your drug intake.

The Judas Window

"The Judas Window is a story about the devastating consequences of prescription drug abuse - a story of enormous significance to the thousands of people everywhere who have been drawn into a descending cycle of drugs, depression and ruin, and to the many more thousands who have suffered in observing that descent. The Judas Window will also speak volumes to anyone concerned about the frightening power of the prescription drug industry, an industry that effectively manipulates both doctors and patients in pursuing its billion dollar gains."

Tranquilisers and Anti Depressants

'Shirley Trickett's book on coming off tranquilzers and antidepressants is literally a 'life saver.' It is the one book which helps people cope with drug withdrawal by explanations and sensible advice. I trusted it and feel I would not have come through without it. It helped me to live again.'

Sylvia Flynn, Newcastle, UK

'I felt you were speaking directly to me in your tranquilizer book. I was so tired of being told I was suffering from 'executive stress' or even once, that it was my age! I was only forty seven at the time. Thank you.' Anthony, London

The Accidental Addict

http://www.benzobookreview.com/addict.html
"The Accidental Addict will be a great resource sitting beside a person who suspects that they may be being made ill by the tranquilizers or sleeping pills that they have been taking. This is a "must have" book for anyone considering coming off their sleeping pills or tranquilizers or in the process of coming off." Ross, United Kingdom www.bcnc.org.uk

"This book confirms the very real dangers of obtaining temporary relief through benzodiazepines use only to experience addiction and horrendous withdrawal symptoms downstream. The case histories experienced will be revealing for some and encouraging for others. Dr J.G. McConnell BSc, MD, FRCP

"The Accidental Addict by Di Porritt and Di Russell provides an up close and personal account of the effect of addiction to benzodiazepines. Their book is based on hundreds of in-depth conversations with benzo sufferers just like you."

Benzo Junkie

In 1982, I was prescribed Ativan, one of the benzodiazepine family of tranquillisers. I spent the next five years in a state of misery, chasing a new, pervasive and mysterious illness that doctors could not diagnose.... Eventually, I identified what was the matter with me: I had been addicted.'
Beatrice Faust

Over half a million people are addicted to benzodiazepine tranquillisers and sleeping pills in Australia alone. How is it that dangerously addictive mind-altering drugs are sold so readily to a trusting public?

Beatrice Faust exposes the great international scandal of drugs that are sold without sufficient testing, drugs known to be addictive or harmful from the time they are released. Many, like thalidominde, are notorious; others, less well known, are equally destructive.

`Combining well-documented research and reports from other benzo junkies, Beatrice Faust's timely and important book is a biting analysis of malpractice in the medical-industrial complex. Doctors, drug companies and governments all profit from pushing benzos. Faust goes behond critique and personal experience, pointing constructively towards a more preventative, holistic, patient-centred medical ethos.
